Serves as the official residence and administrative headquarters of the state's executive branch. It is the primary workplace of the Governor, currently Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, who has been in office since May 2019 .​

The Government House is a central hub for executive decision-making, hosting high-level meetings, policy briefings, and official ceremonies. It also accommodates visiting dignitaries and facilitates coordination between the executive and other branches of the state government.
